I was at No. 22 Canadian General Hospital near Bramshott when a VIP visited and asked to see any patients who had participated in Dieppe. We circulated and asked each of our men in Blues. “I did!” volunteered an enthusiastic young fellow with a decidedly German accent. He seemed rather dismayed when told he didn’t qualify. He had been on the wrong side!
